The Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth became aware of a need at Childrens Hospital that was the focus of a recent article in the London Free Press. On April 21, 2013 we made a donation of 2 iPads to fill that need.
Pictured above are club members Larry Balderston and Carolynn Off with Karen G. in the middle. Karen is the Child Life Coordinator at Childrens Hospital in London. Our club donated 2 iPads with cases and iTunes cards to Child Life. The iPads are used in various ways, allowing kids to play games to take their minds off treatments, have face-to-face discussions with family members that are not at the hospital, and just to have fun! We are thrilled to be able to help make things easier for kids while they are in the hospital.
The Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth is now on Facebook! If you have a Facebook user account just search for “Komok-Kilworth Optimists” and send us a friend request. We will be posting regular updates on Facebook to keep the community well informed.
We are always looking for new members. If you would like to learn more about the Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth, and possibly join the club, please e-mail us at kkoptimists@gmail.com |
